Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Munch Method ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Rahul Sagar, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@munchmethod.com.

These Terms form a legal agreement between you ("you", "your") and Rahul Sagar trading as Munch Method.

2. What Munch Method does

Munch Method is a mobile app that helps people, particularly couples and households, decide what to eat. It lets you browse and swipe through recipes, match on dishes with a household partner, track pantry items (including by photographing your fridge), filter recipes by dietary preferences and allergens, and plan meals.

Recipe content is drawn from third-party sources and a curated catalogue. We provide the app "as is" to help you discover and organise meal ideas.

3. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Munch Method. If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use the app with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, and a parent or guardian must provide or supervise any consent relating to health or allergy information (see Section 6).

By using the app you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. Your account

To use most features you create an account using Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@munchmethod.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion removes your account and associated data, and is permanent. See Section 9.

5. Households and partner invitations

Munch Method lets you form a "household" with another person (for example, a partner) so you can match on dishes and share pantry and meal-plan information.

• When you invite someone and they join your household, your household-related information (such as matches, pantry items, shopping lists, and meal plans) is shared between household members.
• Only invite people you intend to share this information with. Do not invite anyone without their agreement.
• You can leave a household at any time. If you are the last member to leave, the household and its shared data are removed.
• Do not use invitations to send unwanted or repeated messages to others.

6. Dietary preferences, allergens, and important health disclaimer

Munch Method lets you record dietary preferences and allergen information so it can attempt to filter out recipes containing those allergens. Providing allergy information is optional and requires your explicit consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time within the app. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must provide or supervise this consent.

By using the allergen and dietary features, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.

7. Pantry photos ("Snap your fridge")

The app lets you photograph items to help identify ingredients. These images are transmitted to Google Vertex AI for ingredient recognition and are not stored by Munch Method after processing. Only use this feature to photograph your own food items, and avoid capturing other people or sensitive information in the frame.

8. Acceptable use

When using Munch Method, you agree not to:

• use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these Terms;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, other users' accounts, our systems, or third-party services we use;
• interfere with, overload, or disrupt the app or its infrastructure (including automated scraping, excessive requests, or attempts to circumvent usage limits);
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent the law permits;
• misuse household invitations to harass or send unwanted communications to others;
• upload or transmit anything malicious, or anything that infringes others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

9. Account deletion and data

You can delete your account at any time from the app's profile settings. Once you confirm deletion:

• your account and associated personal data are removed, normally within a few minutes;
• deletion is permanent and cannot be undone;
• if you signed in with Apple, your Sign in with Apple authorisation for Munch Method is also revoked.

10. Subscriptions and payment

Munch Method offers an optional paid subscription, Munch Method Pro, which unlocks additional features. The core app is free to use.

• Munch Method Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, priced at £2.49 per month or £19.99 per year. Prices may vary by region and store, and the price shown in the app at the time of purchase applies.
• New subscribers may be offered a free trial (14 days on the monthly plan, 30 days on the annual plan). If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then.
• If you cancel during a free trial, you will not be charged.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

We do not collect or store your card or banking details. All payments are handled by Apple or Google through their platform billing, under their terms.

11. Usage limits and changes to features

The app may include limits on certain features (for example, daily limits on recipe fetches or fridge scans) to keep the service sustainable. We may introduce, change, or remove features, limits, or paid options over time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

12. Third-party services and content

Munch Method relies on third-party services and content, including recipe data providers, cloud infrastructure, and image-recognition services. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for its accuracy. Links or hand-offs to third-party services (for example, food-delivery apps) are provided for convenience; your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

13. Intellectual property

The Munch Method app, its design, branding, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Recipe content may be owned by third parties. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own household use. You may not copy, resell, or commercially exploit the app or its content without our permission.

14. Availability and "as is" basis

We aim to keep Munch Method available and working well, but we provide it "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recipe data will be accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties.

15. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss;
• we are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on recipe suggestions, allergen filtering, or dietary information (see Section 6);
• our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to a reasonable amount, and in any event will not exceed any amount you have paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero for free use).

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Munch Method after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Ending these Terms

You can stop using Munch Method and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we stop offering the app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 13, 14, and 15) continue to apply.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in another country, you may have additional protections under your local law that this clause does not remove.
